The diaeresis: ë, ï and ü
Two dots on a vowel
The webshop gets a page about the team and the customers: Noël, Zoë, Anaïs, a shop in Zürich. Two dots everywhere.
Two dots
The diaeresis shows that a vowel starts a new sound, as in naïve and Noël; in German names it is the umlaut, as in Zürich. No keyboard has a key of its own for it: you type it with a dead key.
On Belgian AZERTY that is Shift with the key right of P (the caret), and then the vowel. On US-International it is Shift with the apostrophe, and then the vowel. First the two dots, then the letter.
