The circumflex, and an accent on a capital

The menu of the café next to the shop: crêpes, pâté, a rôti. And at the top, in capitals, À la carte. Hélène wants the accent there too.

The circumflex, and a capital with an accent

The circumflex (the little roof) sits on crêpe, pâté and rôle. You type it with a dead key: on Belgian AZERTY the key right of P without Shift, on US-International Shift with 6. Then the vowel.

A capital with an accent is typed with a dead key as well: first the accent, then the capital with Shift: É, Ê, À. On AZERTY the key of é or à gives a digit with Shift, not a capital. There you use AltGr with the key of ù for the acute, or with the key of µ for the grave, and then Shift with the letter.
