@ and €
E-mail addresses and prices in euros
The webshop opens. Orders come in by e-mail, and every box of chocolates for the Continent gets a price in euros. Two characters you will type every day from now on.
The at sign and the euro sign
The at sign is in every e-mail address: name@shop.co.uk. On Belgian AZERTY you type it with AltGr and 2; on US QWERTY with Shift and 2; on a British keyboard with Shift and the apostrophe key.
The euro sign is AltGr with 4 on a British keyboard, AltGr with E on AZERTY and AltGr with 5 on US-International. AltGr is the Alt key right of the space bar; you press it with your right thumb. In English the euro sign comes before the amount, without a space: €24.50.
