On a UK QWERTY keyboard in Windows, the at sign is Shift with the ' key, next to Enter. On US QWERTY and US-International it is Shift + 2. On a UK Mac it is Shift + 2 as well.

Frequently asked questions
Shift + 2 gives me a quote mark. What is wrong?
Your computer probably uses the UK layout while you expected the US one, or the other way round. On UK QWERTY, Shift + 2 gives " and the at sign sits on Shift + '.
Can I use Ctrl + Alt instead of AltGr?
In Windows, yes. AltGr arrives as Ctrl + Alt, so Ctrl + Alt gives the same character. AltGr is quicker, since your right thumb is right next to it.
What is @ called?
In English it is the at sign, read as "at" in an email address. In Dutch it is called apenstaartje, a little monkey's tail.
