Never learned to type? It is never too late.
Whether you are fourteen or eighty: you learn touch typing key by key, at your own pace. There is no clock in the lessons, and no lesson stops because you made a mistake.
An email to the grandchildren, a letter to the council, a message for the club: it all goes more smoothly when you no longer have to search.
Why Lurndo suits you
At your own pace
The lessons have no clock. Speed only counts from module 5, and only in tests.
Big and clear
Switch on bigger letters, more space between letters or high contrast. The next character can also be read aloud.
Plain explanations
Every lesson starts with a short explanation, with the keyboard and your hands on screen. Posture and breaks too.
Your own goal
If the goal feels too high, set it lower yourself. Every step forward counts.

Where to start
You start with two keys, F and J. The first three modules are free.
- 1The home rowYour first client as a typist: local station Radio Ripple in Ludlow. You rest your fingers on the home row, feel F and J, and teach every finger its own keys, until you type your first words without looking.
- 2The top rowVillage paper The Clapper in Hexham needs a typist. You reach every finger up to the top row, add N for and, in and on, and type your first full sentences.
Frequently asked questions
Am I too old to learn to type?
No. Touch typing is a matter of repetition, and that works at any age. Take your time and practise in short sessions.
My eyesight is not so good. Can I still do it?
Yes. In the lessons you can switch on bigger letters, more letter spacing and high contrast, and have the next character read aloud.
Do I need an account?
