Your first one-minute test
Measuring net speed in words per minute
Sam wants to know how fast you are. "One minute, as much as you can, and only what is right counts." Your first real typing test.
How speed is measured
A typing test measures your net speed: the number of right characters per minute. A slip you fix costs time; a slip that stays doesn't count. Five keystrokes make one word, so a hundred keystrokes a minute is twenty words.
The goal of this module is twenty words a minute with at least ninety-five percent right. First a short warm-up, then the real one-minute test.
