The number row

The digits blind, and the Shift on AZERTY

Your first morning at the auction. Rik calls out crate numbers and you type them in. "Don't look at the keys," he says, "the bell doesn't wait."

The top row

The digits sit on the top row, two rows above the home row. Every finger reaches straight up to its digit: your left little finger to 1, your left index finger to 4 and 5, your right index finger to 6 and 7, your right little finger to 0.

The classic trap is on AZERTY: there the key without Shift gives a sign (&, é, ...), and you only get the digit with Shift. On QWERTY it is the other way round. Look at the keyboard to see which finger goes with which digit.
