A typing test for a job? Here is how to prepare.
For some jobs, like admin, reception or customer service, the employer asks for a typing test. It usually counts how much you type in a fixed time, and how many mistakes you make.
Here you practise both: touch typing in short lessons, and a free typing test of half a minute, one or three, with your speed and your accuracy.
Why Lurndo suits you
Practise like the test
The typing test runs against the clock, with real words. You see your net speed and how many characters you got right at the first keystroke.
Accuracy counts
In a typing test, mistakes cost points. We count every mistake, also one you fixed, so you know where you stand.
Your slow keys
After the test, the heatmap shows which keys slow you down. That is where you practise.
Punctuation and digits too
After the alphabet you learn capitals, punctuation and digits, which typing tests often contain.

Each employer decides; there is no official standard. Ask if you don't know. Making few mistakes always helps.
How does a typing test measure my speed?
It differs per test. We count words per minute, five keystrokes to a word, and net speed only counts the right characters.
Is the typing test free?
